Being Salman Khan

And here we are...... the moment it seems he is forgotten, he comes back with a BANG (or DABANGG)!!! He gave audience what they really WANTED (just when pure action movies were getting extinct). And now all READY to make the statement once more that he is no less than any Khan and there’s much more left in him for his career.

But undoubtedly, he is one of the most controversial characters in India. A personality, with equally passionate set of people who either love him or hate him to death. There are set of people who idealize him for various reasons, mainly physical fitness. At 45, you cannot expect much from a person, but he refutes his age with a command. On the other hand there are people who condemn him for his felonies.

Hunting of black bucks, regular love affairs, road rash that killed one person and injured several, on set pranks with co-stars and what not? He has given every reason to his bashers to get back on him regularly. An overly passionate and possessive lover; a hot potato, which heroines find hard to handle; short-tempered angry young man; all this is what makes Salman Khan a bad boy. A BAD BOY? REALLY???

Ummm.... not really!!! There has been a brighter side to this personality as well. While his fans very well know his philanthropy which largely use to go unnoticed in media till he started off with Being Human Foundation, which officially made him a philanthropist – a sort of, may be – if not completely. Besides the philanthropy, he has been instrumental in supporting many new comers in the industry, Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif being the major ones. While he helped the junior Roshan with body building and getting him ready for his first movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hain, which went on to become that year’s biggest blockbuster, he and his family supported Katrina when she was completely new to the industry and nobody knew her. Salim Khan (his father) family has been one of the most open and accommodating families in the industry that accepted Helen as a step mother, Malaika Arora (in spite of differences) and Katrina Kaif as a part of their family.

So, it really depends on the person whether he/she sees the half glass empty or half glass full. More often, the full part of the glass goes unnoticed. But over the years, he has proved one statement again and again... that there’s only ONE SALMAN KHAN!!!
